Thinking About the Braves
I'm in Atlanta with my wife overnight and was thinking about the Braves on the ride up. What are the chances of them finishing better than 3rd after their signing three fifths of a starting rotation over the winter? Can they compete with what seems to be a week offensive unit? I'll catch a couple of games over the summer, but I expect them to be out of the playoff hunt by then. Can anybody talk me down?

I guess no one can talk you down.
I think you are right that the Braves are either a 3rd or 4th place team this year, but they are not so bad to be totally out of the playoff hunt in mid-summer.
They were a good pick to win the division last year, but were destroyed by injuries and a horrible record in one-run games. I don't think their roster is as strong this year, but they are more likely to get to use the players that are on it.
What would have to go right for them to make a run?
Obviously a rebound from Francoeur and a healthy Soriano would be good for a few more wins.
Where else can improvement be made?
