Sleeper Potential - Scott Moviel, SP, NYM

Scott Moviel, the New York Mets 2nd round pick (77th overall) in 2007 is a player I have had my eyes on for awhile as I briefly picked him up in a deep keeper league with thirty minors slots while helping a buddy manage his team during a trip to South America. Moviel is HUGE at 6'11" 235 which seems a little light. He fell off of the radar of many by starting off the year in horrendous fashion, but take a look at these splits.

April - 9.68 ERA, 13/8 K/BB
May - 4.31 ERA, 21/12 K/BB
June - 2.76 ERA, 19/6 K/BB
July - 3.13 ERA, 17/1 K/BB

Moviel looks like a pitcher who is doing a much better job of repeating his delivery as he gains experience and learns how to handle his 6'11" frame. If you are in a deep league with 15-20 minors or more, the time to pick Moviel up is now! With him being a Mets product, he will not fly under the radar for long as his ERA continues to edge down towards 4.00. Prospects from the New York teams are so over hyped anyways, that you will probably be able to turn him around in a year or two for twice his actual value.
